This weeks DNjournal update had some great domain sales reported!
Poker.de finally was finalized fromt he NICIT.com auction at DomainFest Amsterdam, the final price was €695,000 ($957,937). The buyer was PartyPoker.com, one of the best end user sales that I’ve seen in a while. I bet that if this were sold 2 years ago, the price might have been much lower due to the fact that the US gaming laws were much different and German casino traffic was less coveted compared to the burgeoning US gaming traffic.
TRAFFIC / Moniker Sales Wrapup
BachelorDegrees.com was finalized and the sales price of $42,500 was a steal if you ask me. Several affiliate programs pay $25-$35 per lead and I doubt that it would take long to recover the purchase price of this strong keyword domain.
From an SEO perspective, GymBags.com at $29,420 was a great buy as well. Just think of all the affiliate programs that offer some form of gymbags. I would even venture into Hockey bags, Basketball bags, Bat Bags, Volleyball bags, etc…. You see where I’m going with this. If I were the new owner, I’d fire up a blog and see where things go, I bet there is plenty of new content and products be released daily that could be discussed. Great buy IMO!
IDN Madness
Ernährung.de (”nutrition” in German) brought in €24,660 ($33,992) in a private transaction between seller Jens Mechelke and buyer Nico Zeifang of Zeifang.com. A second IDN, Aşk.com (puny code xn--ak-fta.com), sold for $14,101 at snapnames. 笔记本.cn (IDN) - which means “notebook” in Chinese sold for $2,575 in a private sale.
3-Letter.com Stars
A whole slew of 3-letter.com domains were sold last week including LWE.com for $11k, BXE.com for $8,409, HXS.com for $7,600, YKJ.com for $6,650, and EOQ.com for $5,520.
Another great week in domain sales, propped up by some TRAFFIC sales but a great number of IDN and ccTLD sales helped push this week’s sales through the roof!
