VoIP in India: JaJah Leading the Pack

jajah3.jpgI read about JaJah a while ago and it seems that they have made headway in getting India introduced to the idea of Internet Telephone service.  They’re edgy, running campaigns where they offer free service if you refer your friends, this type of activity has convinced many people to sign up already.  The market that they are going after consists of nearly 100 million people that have both an Internet connection and a phone (which is required for this type of service).

VoIP companies can do Viral too

JaJah is testing the waters using viral marketing and social media marketing in its latest campaigns,  but the real secret to JaJah’s success will be their offerings.  They are one of many VoIP companies in India that offer free service, but they are doing it with a Twist.   In the past companies have gone under in India by offering Free service and then being taken advantage of when Indian residents call their family across the world for hours.  JaJah offers free 30-minute calls and then a standard low rate after that.

The current offer? 7.3 cents/minute or 3.2 INR from now until August 15th (India’s Independence day).
