About ScottFish
Why I Built This
When Google forced everyone to migrate from Universal Analytics to GA4, I felt the pain firsthand while running my magazine. The new interface was overwhelming, data was hard to find, and simple tasks became complex multi-step processes.
I needed a simpler way to understand my website traffic. No complex configurations. No endless menu diving. Just clear, actionable analytics that help me make better decisions for my magazine.
My Mission
ScottFish transforms the complexity of Google Analytics 4 into a clean, intuitive dashboard that anyone can understand. I believe analytics should be accessible, not intimidating.
My Guiding Principles:
- Show the metrics that matter most
- Make data instantly understandable
- Remove unnecessary complexity
- Respect user privacy
Roadmap
Just Google Analytics is not enough. I'm planning to integrate Google Search Console, Search My Business, Merchant Center, Ads, and more from Google to make it easy for you to understand how all of these properties work together to help your business grow!
Built in Public
I'm building ScottFish in public because I believe in transparency and community feedback. Every feature I add is shaped by real user needs and suggestions.
This is just the beginning. I work on ScottFish part-time after my full-time job, pouring my evenings and weekends into making it better. I'm actively developing new features and improvements based on your feedback.
Get Involved
As a solo developer, your input is invaluable! I'd love to hear your thoughts, feature suggestions, or bug reports. Help me build the analytics dashboard we've always wanted.
This project wouldn't be possible without community support. If ScottFish helps you, consider sharing it with others or dropping me a note about your experience.
